Livestock Shed Cleaning

The risk of infection is all too real in the agricultural sector

Cleaning and disinfecting properly are the key areas farmers should focus on. This is made more apparent when The Department of Agriculture has advised farmers of the cleaning standard required in housing facilities, especially to lower the risk of TB. Areas that they noted to pay particular attention were ones that were either concealed or hard to reach.

Cleaning down livestock sheds, slurry tanks and muck spreaders is more than just a cosmetic choice

Trailers, slurry tankers and muck spreaders could all be contaminated with TB and must also be cleaned and disinfected. Soaking all surfaces thoroughly before allowing the disinfection to dry in would achieve the best results.
